Buckskin Gulch is credited as the world's longest slot canyon and IT IS SO COOL! If it's not already on your bucket list, add it right away!

To reach it, drive about an hour east of Kanab, then turn right/south onto House Rock Road (it's right at the base of a hill, just before the guardrail begins). Drive a few miles on the dirt road (it can be rough if it hasn't been graded recently, but you don't need 4 wheel drive, unless it's wet from rain, then even 4 wheel drive won't save you on the slippery clay!).

You'll pass the Buckskin Gulch trailhead on your left, and you may begin there, or continue a couple more miles down the road and take the "short cut" to the good parts via Wire Pass. This is the same parking lot where you access The Wave, which you'll find just over the Arizona border.

You WILL need a permit, which you may obtain online. (The Wave requires a separate permit, which is very difficult to get!).
